Maren Jewellery pursues a holistic approach to sustainability. That is why it was important to us from the very beginning to design our packaging accordingly. Packaging. By definition, it is already waste. Something wrapped around the actual desired, longed-for product to protect it. How is it possible to find a new approach here? How can something necessary be transformed into something useful? What can Maren Jewellery packaging even look like? One thing is clear: this is only possible if you have partners who share our vision.
Packaging - sustainable is possible!
Our partners:Linen
Linen weaving mill Vieböck from Helfenberg in Austria
You have the choice: Either we ship our handcrafted, sustainable jewelry in paper boxes or in beautiful linen bags – our Linen Cases.
We are fortunate to be working with the Weberei Vieböck to have found a partner for whom, just like for us, craftsmanship is more than just the mere possibility of producing something useful; for Vieböck, craftsmanship is passion. And not just since yesterday. In the weaving mill, high-quality linen has been processed into wonderful fabrics since 1832. Anyone who has ever made something with their own hands will know: The love for the raw material, the sensitivity, the honest work – the handcrafted product carries the signature of passion.
And so it is with the linens from Helfenberg. For their linen fabric, they exclusively source European flax: from Belgium, France, and the Netherlands. Flax is a very undemanding plant that does not require much water to produce its wonderful fibers. The fibers are processed into yarn by an Italian spinning mill, which is then woven and sewn in Helfenberg with great love and passion for the craft. Above all, the motto is: "Don't lose the thread!"
Lebenshilfe Schweinfurt
The high-quality, handwoven linen for our Linen Cases is further processed in Schweinfurt. More precisely: by the Rehabilitation and Employment Workshop, a facility of Lebenshilfe in Schweinfurt. Many diligent hands lovingly craft the linen into the delicate cases in which we send you your new favorite piece. Once the Maren Jewellery Linen Cases are fully sewn, they are also embroidered in Schweinfurt with our logo, the mindful m, and then make their way to Chiemsee, where they simply wait to gently cradle your jewelry on its journey to you.
Paper
Gmund paper
190 years of paper culture? You can tell. When Gmund Papier starts something, you can be sure that aesthetics and quality are guaranteed. They not only produced our paper packaging, but also developed a paper insert for us instead of the usual foam one. Gmund Papier stands for innovative and ecological production. Our Paper Case is a small work of art made from fully recyclable paper, completely free of plastic.
With its own Environmental Charter, Gmund Papier has set a new environmental standard. This means they are committed to certain principles:
> Lower water consumption through continuous, efficient optimization measures
> Only sustainable raw materials are used: Gmund Papier is FSC® certified
> Production is carried out with careful recycling
> Thanks to in-house facilities, up to 75% of the energy is generated in-house through hydropower, solar energy, and combined heat and power
Label Schiller
For 80 years, they have been working in Plüderhausen for sustainable alternatives in mail order. For Maren Jewellery, they have developed beautiful stickers. In addition, Etiket (yes, with a 't' – you can read why that is on their website) Schiller produces our UPS label made of compostable thermal paper.
Vollmer weaving mill
A mindful love is printed on the beautifully woven ribbons that we include with our jewelry. They are made in Wuppertal by the Weberei Vollmer. Since 1930, quality has been the main focus for the weaving mill. With great attention to detail, our wish ribbons are made from 100 percent cotton. You put them on, make a wish – as soon as it falls off, the wish comes true!
organic bee
At the latest, when you want to seal a package, you run into a problem: adhesive tape. Plastic tape was never an option for us. All the better that we discovered Biobiene. They developed a beautiful paper tape for Maren Jewellery and printed it sustainably with our brand logo. Our packaging is also made by Biobiene from 100% recycled waste paper.
Holistic sustainability down to the last detail
Packing of course
It is the crackle of joy: The filling material, the soft bed in which your jewelry lies before you can finally wear it. At Natürlich Verpacken, we have found a partner who cares about the environment just as much as we do. Made from recycled paper, the Paper Case gently rests in sustainable cushioning material.
Environmental pressure Berlin
Show your true colours with printed materials: under this motto, Umweltdruck Berlin, formerly Druckhaus Berlin, works in an environmentally conscious and sustainable way. For Maren Jewellery, this traditional and environmentally minded company prints our gift wrap. Their ink is Blue Angel certified and therefore fully in line with our vision: holistic sustainability down to the very last detail.
