Nature is at the heart of our sustainable journey. At Maren Jewellery, we are proud to be a sustainable jewelry label that thinks sustainability holistically down to the smallest detail. We love nature in all its facets and want to reflect its beauty in our sustainable jewelry pieces and produce them in harmony with it.

Our jewelry pieces therefore not only tell a story but are the result of numerous thoughtful decisions for the environment. What this means in concrete terms and how we implement our endeavor every day in practice can be read in our journal.

faqs about sustainability

Does Maren Jewelery Have Sustainability Certificates?

Yes, Maren Jewellery is a B Corp and RJC certified.

This means we have received sustainability certificates for taking the social and societal responsibility seriously that comes with every business establishment.

For focusing on the needs of those who are directly or indirectly affected by our actions. This can include employees, suppliers, and customers. All those who are interested in the long-term existence of Maren Jewellery.

Furthermore, we ensure to work with suppliers who also have sustainability certifications. Three of our partners, for example, are RJC certified.

In addition, we are currently working on CO2 neutrality certification.

What makes Maren Jewelery’s jewelery sustainable?

At Maren Jewellery, we pursue a holistic sustainability approach. We aim to design jewelry in harmony with nature. Therefore, we use only sustainable materials, such as recycled metals and lab-grown diamonds, and produce our jewelry locally in Germany and 'Made to Order'. This helps us avoid long transport routes, unnecessary storage, and overproduction. Each of our jewelry pieces is completely recyclable, allowing us to strive for a circular economy in the long term. We value fair working conditions and work exclusively with suppliers and partners who share our sustainable vision of jewelry production. Transparency is very important to us in all aspects. Our jewelry pieces are all high-quality, durable, and minimalist, designed with careful craftsmanship. The packaging also makes our jewelry sustainable. We use no plastic and no animal products. With the sale of our jewelry pieces, we also support the sustainable initiative Chooose and offset 100kg of CO2 per piece of jewelry produced.

Which sustainable initiatives does Maren Jewelery support?

Maren Jewellery has decided to sustainably support two initiatives in order to produce each piece of jewelry in the best possible harmony with nature:

Chooose

Although each of our pieces of jewelry consumes an average of 0.4 kg of CO2, which is about 73 times less CO2 than average manufactured jewelry, we offset 100 kg of CO2 with a donation to the sustainable initiative Chooose every time we sell one of our pieces to be climate positive.

Earthbeat Foundation

We at Maren Jewellery exclusively use recycled materials to avoid having to mine more gold and to utilize what is already available. To still contribute to positive change in the gold industry and for the nature and people of the mining areas for which we want to take responsibility, we support the Earthbeat Foundation with 3% of our annual profit.

The Earthbeat Foundation is committed to supporting people whose livelihood is dependent on mining work due to a lack of alternatives. The Earthbeat Foundation is creating new sustainable sources of income on-site, such as the beekeeping project.

Does maren jewelery have a sustainability report?

Yes, although it is not mandatory for Maren Jewellery to submit a sustainability report, we have decided to inform you in a comprehensive report about our activities and initiatives regarding sustainability and to disclose our figures.

Because transparency is important to us. With the help of our sustainability report, we want to provide you and ourselves with a measure. We want to know where we stand in order to show where we want to go. Therefore, you can get a clear picture from the sustainability report of how much CO2 our jewelry consumes compared to conventional pieces, where we source our synthetic diamonds, our recycled gold and silver, and who produces it for us.

You will receive a detailed overview of our holistically sustainable supply chain and our values and goals. This way, you can assure yourself that we are genuinely committed to our holistic understanding of sustainability and that this is not just empty rhetoric.
