Our Sustainable Initiative
In our We Mind Initiative we have recorded our values for sustainable jewelry in harmony with nature. At Maren, we see sustainability as a holistic approach and therefore rely on the three values: mindfulness, sustainability and transparency
We use recycled gold, silver and synthetic eco diamonds to create jewelry that not only looks good on you, but also our planet. A sense of responsibility is important to us. Local production in Germany, plastic-free packaging and cooperation with sustainable suppliers are a matter of course for us. Every piece of jewelry we produce offsets 100kg of CO2, and from 2021 we will donate 3% of our sales to the Earthbeat Foundation to help protect the environment.
Our jewelry is not only made for you, but also for the future. With urban mining, we rely on recycled gold and silver to minimize energy consumption and ensure fair working conditions. Design for Deconstruction means our pieces are recyclable and promote a circular economy.

Does Maren Jewelery Have Sustainability Certificates?
Yes, Maren Jewelry is a B Corp and RJC Certified.
This means that we have received sustainability certificates to show that we take seriously the social responsibility that every start-up entails.
For focusing on the needs of those who are directly or indirectly affected by our activities. These can be employees, suppliers, customers. All those who are interested in Maren Jewelery being around in the long term.
We also make sure to work with suppliers who also have sustainability certificates. For example, three of our partners are RJC certified.
In addition, we are currently working on CO2 neutral certification.
What makes Maren Jewelery’s jewelery sustainable?
At Maren Jewelery we pursue a holistic sustainability approach. We want to design jewelry in harmony with nature. That's why we only use sustainable materials, such as recycled metals and laboratory-grown diamonds, and produce our jewelry locally in Germany and made to order. This allows us to avoid long transport routes, unnecessary storage and overproduction. Each of our pieces of jewelry is completely recyclable, which means we are striving for a circular economy in the long term. We value fair working conditions and work exclusively with suppliers and partners who share our sustainable vision of jewelry production. Transparency is very important to us in all respects. Our pieces of jewelry are all high-quality, durable and minimalist, carefully handcrafted. The packaging also makes our jewelry sustainable. We do not use plastic or animal products. With the sale of our jewelry, we also support the sustainable Chooose initiative and offset 100kg of CO2 for each piece of jewelry produced.s.
Which sustainable initiatives does Maren Jewelery support?
Maren Jewelery has decided to sustainably support two initiatives in order to produce each piece of jewelry in the best possible way in harmony with nature:

Although each of our pieces of jewelry uses 0.4kg of CO2 on average, around 73 times less CO2 than the average piece of jewelry produced, we offset 100kg of CO2 every time we sell one of our pieces of jewelry with a donation to the sustainable initiative Chooose in order to be climate positive.
Earthbeat Foundation
At Maren Jewelery we only use recycled materials so that we don't have to mine any more gold and use what is already there. In order to do something for positive change in the gold industry and for the nature and people of the mining areas, for which we would like to take responsibility, we support the Earthbeat Foundation with 3% of our annual profits.
The Earthbeat Foundation advocates for people whose livelihood is mining work due to a lack of alternatives. The Earthbeat Foundation is creating new sustainable sources of income locally, such as the beekeeping project.
Does maren jewelery have a sustainability report?
Yes, although it is not mandatory for Maren Jewelery to submit a sustainability report, we have decided to inform you in a comprehensive report about our activities and initiatives in the context of sustainability and to disclose our figures.
Because transparency is important to us. With the help of our sustainability report, we want to give you and ourselves a unit of measurement. We want to know where we stand in order to show where we want to go. That's why you can use the sustainability report to get a precise picture of how much Co2 our jewelry consumes compared to conventional jewelry, where we get our synthetic diamonds, our recycled gold and silver from and who produces it for us.
You will receive a detailed overview of our holistically sustainable supply chain and our values and goals. This way you can make sure that we are committed to our holistic understanding of sustainability and that these are not just empty words.
