Fashion Revolution Week: I made your jewellery

Fashion revolution week:i made your jewelry

Sustainability

Fashion Revolution Week. Revolution means making visible what often remains hidden. The good is often already there - it just needs to be shown.

Because jewelry is not just about beauty. It is about people. About hands that create. About decisions made consciously.

The sweater you are wearing today, the shoes, your bag - do you know who made them? Probably not. And that is exactly what we want to change.

I am Helge Maren Hauptmann - the designer and goldsmith behind Maren Jewellery.
Every piece of jewelry begins with me: with an idea, a sketch, and the ambition to create something that lasts.

That is why we are part of Fashion Revolution Week .
And that is why we show who makes your jewelry.

The path of your favorite piece

From the raw material to the finished piece of jewelry, it is a journey with many stages – and many hands.

We work exclusively with recycled precious metals: 18-carat gold, 18-carat white gold, and 925 sterling silver. Our gold comes from Pforzheim, from the C. Hafner refinery , where old gold – such as old jewelry or dental gold – is returned to the cycle.

This is where your piece of jewelry begins its journey.

Design meets gold

The next step stays in Pforzheim: at the Kauselmann foundry, my designs are brought into shape.

This is where my sketches become the first physical pieces of jewelry. The foundry works exclusively with recycled gold and relies on transparent production standards. Even in small details, this commitment is clear — for example, by avoiding plastic bags in shipping.

But casting is only the beginning.

You are golden

Back at Maren Studio on Lake Chiemsee, my real handcraft begins.

Here, I continue working on each piece of jewelry:
I saw, file, solder, and adjust every detail. Step by step, the blank becomes a finished piece of jewelry with character.

This work is intentionally slow. And intentionally handmade.

Shine bright like a diamond

We work with a specialized family-run business in Pforzheim for stone setting.

Julia Kling, a fifth-generation gemstone setter, sets our lab-grown diamonds into each piece of jewelry with the utmost precision. Every stone is set individually — with experience, calm, and an eye for detail that has been refined over generations.

The quality control

In the end, every piece of jewelry returns to my workbench.

This is where the final polishing and quality control take place – by hand and with great care. I inspect every detail, every surface, every setting.

Even in the final steps, we pay close attention to how we work: for example, we use citric acid for pickling instead of harsh chemicals.

Only when everything is just right is a piece of jewelry ready to move on.

By people for people

Jewelry is not created anonymously. It is made by people who understand their craft.

We work with partners we know personally and with whom we stay in close contact. Statements about working conditions and standards are based on this collaboration - not on blanket promises.

Transparency means this to us: showing what we know - and also where our responsibility lies.

Because trust does not come from perfection. It comes from honesty.

Our jewelry is made by people for people.
And that is exactly why we are part of Fashion Revolution Week.
