Heiraten in Frankfurt, Tipps von Asja

Getting Married in Frankfurt, Tips from Asja

In this journal you will receive tips for your wedding in Frankfurt with inspiration, insights and thoughts from Asja, founder of Aja Weddings.

Frankfurt is a city of contrasts and character. Between glittering skyscrapers and historic old buildings, a special mix of international flair and urban elegance emerges. For couples who say "I do" in this city, Frankfurt offers a stage full of possibilities: modern, stylish and at the same time approachable.

In conversation with Asja from Aja Weddings – planner with an international sense of style

Asja is the founder and heart of Aja Weddings, a wedding planning agency based in Frankfurt am Main. Born in Croatia, she lived in Milan and today works across Europe with a focus on Germany, Italy and Croatia.

Thanks to this international experience, she understands the subtle differences of various cultures and styles. She speaks four languages, is a certified project manager as well as a wedding planner and designer, combining creativity and precision in a unique way.

Her style is elegant, timeless and detail-oriented, her philosophy clear: every wedding is a reflection of the couple's personality. With Aja Weddings she plans celebrations that remain memorable long after the day, emotionally authentic and aesthetically perfectly staged.

Wedding Planerin Asja bei einer Hochzeit in Frankfurt

>This is what it's about: shaping your day so it feels like you and so you can simply say: That was exactly us.

1. Frankfurt is your home. What makes the city a special place for weddings to you?

Asja: For me, Frankfurt is the perfect starting point for international weddings – centrally located, with one of Europe's largest airports, the city offers excellent accessibility for guests from around the world. And that's exactly what makes it so special: it combines urban elegance with international flair, outstanding infrastructure and countless opportunities to give your guests an unforgettable experience.

I love how flexible Frankfurt and its surroundings can be combined. We've already done weddings where the welcome evening took place in the city and the main celebration in the Rheingau – and vice versa. Because of the proximity to the dreamy wine regions of the Rheingau and the Pfalz, you can create an entire wedding weekend that delights your guests: from a skyline dinner to a wine tasting at a castle – the possibilities are endless. Of course, with our help and the right ideas!

Currently, for example, we are planning a wedding for a couple from the USA who want to show their guests authentic German culture. For their welcome evening I had the idea of booking the legendary Ebbelwoi-Express exclusively – with regional apple wine, German beer and small treats with Grüner Soße, while the tram leisurely travels through Frankfurt. This creates a relaxed, joyful start to the wedding weekend – and at the same time a true Frankfurt experience. Sounds like fun, doesn’t it?

2. Which locations in and around Frankfurt continually excite you and why?

Asja: I love how versatile Frankfurt and its surroundings are – from modern city venues with skyline views to romantic wineries and castles in the countryside. There’s the right place for every couple and every story.

In the city itself I’m captivated by venues like the Oosten, the Gerbermühle, or the MainNizza – ideal for a true city wedding, with stylish urban flair and views of the Main. I always say: think of Carrie from Sex and the City – only here she’s really getting married! 💫 For unforgettable skyline views I recommend the elegant Sofitel Frankfurt Opera for intimate celebrations or the Kreisler for larger parties – both offer that special mix of modern luxury, culinary excellence, and Frankfurt glamour.

And then there’s, of course, Frankfurt’s romantic side – just an hour away, yet like another world. The majestic Schloss Johannisberg in the Rheingau, the traditional Schlosshotel Kronberg in the Taunus, or the elegant Mussler winery in the Pfalz – they all enchant with historic charm, fine wines, and an atmosphere that radiates pure romance.

That proximity between urban luxury and idyllic wine country is what continually delights me here. Whether a modern city celebration with an international vibe or a weekend at a castle overlooking the vineyards – Frankfurt and its region simply offer everything to make dreams come true.

3. You work with pairs from different countries and cultures. How do you incorporate this diversity into your concepts?

Aaja: This diversity is what makes my work so vibrant and inspiring. I have had the pleasure of working with couples from all over the world – from the USA to Italy to Croatia – and each brings their own story, culture, and emotions. That's exactly what I love.

In my concepts, this cultural diversity is reflected in many subtle details:

– individual ceremony elements that hold meaning for the couple

– culinary experiences that bring together different tastes

– music and ambiance that connect guests from different countries

I speak 4 languages myself and have worked internationally for a long time – that helps build bridges and ensure that all guests feel welcome. In the end, it's about creating an atmosphere in which the couple and their loved ones alike can see themselves — no matter where they come from.

4. What is especially important to you when working with bridal couples to reflect their personality in every detail?

Asja: It's important to me that every wedding is truly personal. I want my couples to see themselves in every moment – from the color palette to the atmosphere, from the menu to the music. That's why I start by listening: Who are you? What is your story? What do you want to feel when you experience this day?

From this foundation a tailor-made concept is created that is not only aesthetically perfect but also emotionally moving. I pay attention to every detail, work with a curated network of high-quality vendors, and ensure the planning is structured and stress-free. Because in the end the couple shouldn't be organizing – they should be enjoying.

When everything flows together harmoniously and the guests say, “That was so them!” – then I know we've done it right.

5. Which trends are you currently seeing in the wedding world, and which elements do you find timelessly beautiful?

Asja: Right now I see the famous Champagne Tower at almost every wedding. It looks beautiful in photos of course – sparkling glasses, an elegant moment, the perfect picture. But honestly: in reality it's often more of a photo moment than a real experience. While the couple pours, we serve guests their champagne, there's a small toast – and that's usually it.

I'm looking forward to seeing new ideas soon! Maybe a Martini Tower or something completely different – something that really involves the guests, that's more interactive and piques their curiosity. Those little surprises create experiences people remember for a long time.

What I will always find beautiful – especially at Italian destination weddings – is the couple finishing the wedding cake together. We did that at our own wedding too, and it was simply lovely! The team put chef hats on us (picture me with perfect hair, dress and makeup – and then a chef hat! ) and we were allowed to finish the cake with cream, strawberries and sugar while our guests cheered, joked about who did it better, and of course drank their champagne.

This moment is still often mentioned by our guests – because it was so genuine, lively and full of joy. And that's exactly what will always remain timelessly beautiful to me: moments that are not only aesthetically perfect, but truly experienced.

6. If you could give one piece of advice to a couple planning their wedding in Frankfurt, what would it be?

Asja: Stay true to your vision — and enjoy the journey. Frankfurt and its surroundings offer so many possibilities that it’s easy to get overwhelmed. So choose what truly reflects you — whether a glamorous city wedding with skyline views or a romantic celebration in a Rheingau castle.

And then: trust the right support. With professional planning, a clear concept, and the right partners, your wedding will be not only beautiful but relaxed, harmonious, and full of emotion.

Because that’s what it’s all about: shaping your day so it feels like you — and so you can simply say, “That was exactly us.”

We warmly thank Asja for her inspiring insights and her passion for special celebrations. With her sense of style, structure, and emotion she creates weddings that not only delight aesthetically but also touch the heart. If you want your wedding planned with heart and clarity, with a touch of Mediterranean lightness and Frankfurt elegance, you are in the best hands with Aja Weddings. Asja combines international experience with local expertise to create unforgettable experiences that unite love, design, and joie de vivre.
