Liv and Sarah are the creative minds behind beyond tales. With their special sense for design, stories, and emotions, they create weddings that stand out from the usual while remaining authentic.

For them, the focus is on each couple telling their own story – whether it's a free ceremony on the beach, an elegant celebration in the city, or a lovingly designed event in the countryside.

Liv and Sarah: By hiring a competent wedding planner – us, for example ;-) Because especially venues where individual concepts can be realized are often harder to find. In many cases, we don’t even work with traditional wedding venues but think and search outside the box.

What helps us besides the exchange in the initial conversation during the search is a questionnaire we developed, which asks a few more aspects regarding the wedding, but above all points that give us an even better insight into the two personalities – individually and as a couple – such as the question of how their friends would describe them or what their three favorite restaurants and/or bars are.

Of course, it is also very important to visit the venues in person, preferably accompanied by the planners, to ask secondary questions, for example about technology, infrastructure, and logistics.

We also recommend sticking to something that provides a good compass throughout the entire planning process: the (gut) feeling.

Liv and Sarah: There are definitely still some real insider tips, but of course, we only share those with our customers :-)

Often we find these because, on the one hand, we have a very open and highly individual understanding of getting married and therefore a good eye for genuine and undiscovered gems.

On the other hand, because we like to travel often with our vans – whether to the North Sea or Baltic Sea or the areas around cities like Lübeck or Lüneburg, our antennas are always ready, and we've already discovered one or two location treasures this way.

Liv and Sarah: When it comes to the thematic design of a wedding, we also like to break away from conventional and generic interpretations, often opting for subtle expression.

When it comes to maritime elements in the decoration, we prefer suitable colors—such as a sea-blue linen tablecloth blowing in the North German wind—rather than the expected shells or sand as table decorations.

And when it comes to food, it doesn't have to be fish—there are a variety of dishes, fortunately now also vegetarian or vegan, that can be integrated into a fitting concept.

For us, it is increasingly important to work with partners, whether in the countryside or the city, who handle resources consciously and mindfully. This also means paying attention not only to regionality but also to seasonal availability.

Liv and Sarah: Our ultimate tips for a relaxed atmosphere and ease are authenticity, focus on the essentials, and mindfulness.

The dynamics of a wedding day or any other celebration are closely linked to the attitude and mood of the hosts. Guests feel comfortable when they recognize the couple during the day, can effortlessly and naturally fit into the flow, and it doesn’t feel like an overly orchestrated program.

And for the wedding couple: Let go as much and as often as possible, constantly remind yourselves what this day is really about—and what it’s not.

No one needs overproduced Instagram highlights; your guests want to celebrate you and your love.

Those who keep this in mind have already contributed a great deal to a relaxed atmosphere and plenty of ease.

Liv and Sarah: Of course, a conscious and mindful approach to resources also includes working with as many regional service providers as possible – but the things to watch out for are no different for us than with urban partners.

From our perspective, what’s always important is the willingness to develop individual offers and solutions, very reliable and transparent communication, and a contemporary understanding of weddings. The latter is not always immediately apparent with some rural service providers, especially regarding decoration, but if, for example, a florist is a professional, he or she will certainly be able to understand and realize your wishes and concept.

In some cases, it is advisable to commission a work sample in advance – something we also sometimes do in urban settings, by the way.

Liv and Sarah: For us, the best trend is always the one that follows no one :-) An event as highly individual and shaped by personal factors as the marriage of two people should, in our opinion, not follow trends but simply be a trend itself.

It is no coincidence that the following statement is one of our all-time favorites: Your day, your money, your rules!

If you stay true to yourself, from choosing the location to the program to the decoration, and don’t let Pinterest, Instagram, or suddenly very present relatives unsettle you, then that is the best foundation to create coherent and, above all, timeless memories.

However, to name at least one lasting trend that we can actually appreciate for various reasons: smaller, so-called micro weddings, which often take place over an entire weekend and thus allow plenty of space for conscious encounters and experiences.
