Maren Lovestory: Erbstücke von Kira verwandelt in zeitlose Ringe

Maren Lovestory: Kira's heirlooms transformed into timeless rings

Love Story

Welcome to a new installment of our Maren Lovestory, where we share personal stories about our jewelry. Often the journey of our creations doesn’t begin with a new design, but with something already existing — with memories, emotions, and lived moments that our craftsmanship reshapes into a new form.

Today we take you on a special journey that began with two inherited pieces of jewelry: an elegant ring and a delicate 18-carat white gold necklace set with white diamonds and two vividly green emeralds. Kira, their wearer, approached us with the wish to have something new, personal, and timeless created from these heirlooms — and so two bespoke rings were created, which may now continue writing their own story.

We are very pleased to have the opportunity to ask Kira about her very personal jewelry story today.

Interview with Kira

Dear Kira, it's great that you're sharing your story with us. To begin, tell us a little about yourself: who are you and what makes you who you are?

Kira:
I am a Hamburg native, a proud twin mom, singer, songwriter and a creative person. Stories, sounds, memories – all of these often flow into one another for me. I believe that what touches us always remains a part of us – even if it is sometimes very quiet. It was exactly this feeling I wanted to make tangible in the pieces of jewelry: something personal that accompanies me and is retold at the same time.

You entrusted us with two very special pieces of jewelry – what story lies behind them, and what was your idea for their redesign?

Kira:
The ring and the necklace originally came from my grandmother and were later given to my mother when she herself was a young woman. For a long time they lay in her drawer – a little hidden, but never forgotten. When they finally came to me, I felt that I wanted to wear them. But as they were, they didn't really suit me.

I didn't want to just leave them unused – that would have felt like a waste. So I began searching for a goldsmith who specializes in exactly those kinds of stories. I didn't yet know exactly what the new piece of jewelry should look like, but the style of Maren Jewellery immediately appealed to me. I had the feeling that Helge would surely have a good idea.

What significance do the diamonds and emeralds hold for you – and what inspired you to decide to have two new rings made from them?

Kira:
The one ring is clearly a reinterpretation of the old ring with the emeralds. Its color is so special – and the ring has its very own character. It reminds me a lot of my grandmother.

The second ring stands for my present and my future – four small stones, one for each member of my four-person family. It is simple, but full of meaning.

How did you experience the process of creating the new jewelry pieces? What mattered most to you?

Kira:
The process was incredibly sensitive and caring. I felt seen from the very beginning. It wasn't just about aesthetics, but also about finding the right balance between old and new. It was especially important to me that the rings feel light – both physically and emotionally.

Helge sent me beautifully prepared design proposals, so I had a very concrete idea of what to expect. It was a truly lovely, trusting exchange.

Why did you choose Maren Jewellery – what about our work convinced you?

Kira:
The combination of perfect craftsmanship, sustainability and genuine empathy immediately appealed to me. With Helge I felt that my concern was welcome – and truly understood.

What role does sustainability play for you – especially when it comes to jewelry and values?

Kira:
A big one. For me, sustainability is not just about materials, but about mindset. If you want to be effective, you should take responsibility – for resources, for people, for the planet. Maren embodies exactly that in a very pleasant, stylish way.

When you look at your newly created rings – what do you feel? What do they mean to you today?

Kira:
To me, the rings are something very special – they are a beautiful reminder that I find both support and my own strength in my family.

And I like the idea that something beautiful never really disappears, but can keep transforming.

Thank you, dear Kira, for your openness, your trust, and for letting us be part of your jewelry journey. It is always an honor for us to let memories live on in a new form – with respect for the old and a loving eye toward the new.

Perhaps you also carry a piece of memory within you that deserves a new story? Then feel free to write to us – we look forward to hearing from you.

Maybe you'd like to share your very own "maren love story" with us in the form of an interview for one of our journals? You can easily get in touch with us, either by email or via one of our social media channels. We look forward to hearing from you and learning more about your jewelry story.
