Fashion Revolution Week 2022: I made your jewellery

Fashion Revolution Week 2022. Revolution means: to change something. This also means that the good is already there, somehow already part of something that just needs to be brought into the right light. You just have to bring it to the surface, turn it around so that positive things prevail. And that's how it is with fashion. Sure, it's about beauty. But not only. It's also about people. Primarily about people. That's what needs to be emphasized.

The sweater you're wearing today, the pants, your shoes - do you know who made it all? Whose hands went through the fabrics, who set the stitching? Probably not. But that is essential. You wear other people's work on your skin. It keeps you warm, it underlines your most beautiful sides. And yet we know too little about the circumstances and background of production.

That is why we support the Fashion Revolution Week 2022and have opted for radical transparency. We are proud of our partners. We are proud of our jewelry .And above all: We are convinced that you have a right to know who makes your jewelry and under what circumstances. Simply because we want to know that too.

The path of your favorite piece

From the raw material to saying yes. It is a journey full of heat, full of adventure, full of passion. Each of our jewelry pieces begins with a heat that is to melt away. Because we use only recycled precious metals for our jewelry: 18 carat gold, 925 sterling silver, 18 carat white gold. Our precious metals come from Pforzheim. In a red brick house there is a house where dental gold and old jewelry come together. The C. Hafner refinery gives old gold a new life and thus creates the basis for our jewelry.

Design meets gold

The gold does not even have to change cities. Because: our casting company Kauselmann, which brings the gold in acquaintance with our designs also works in Pforzheim. It is a special casting house. Because: they do not work with mined gold at all. And their principles are clear: no inhumane working conditions, no environmental pollution, no child labor in the extraction of gold. That's why the casting company has also decided to use paper bags instead of shipping their castings in plastic bags - as is usually the case. This saves them several million plastic bags! Where they don't save, however: Casting jewelry in the best quality, precisely fitting to our specifications. But the mere casting is not yet a finished piece of jewelry. Now it has to be polished.

You are golden

And that takes over to a certain extent Vasco for us. A traditional polishing company with a clear foundation: Made in Germany. More precisely: Made in Pforzheim. Quality, local craftsmanship, tradition - since 1986, raw pieces of jewelry have been transformed here into rings, necklaces, earrings that merge with our lives because they are an indispensable part of our history.

Shine bright like a Diamond

We stay in Pforzheim. From the outside, it looks like an inconspicuous family home. But when you go inside, you can't help but be amazed. Because what belongs together comes together here. Kling and our jewelry, diamonds and gold. Wilhelm Kling - or as he calls himself: Brilli Willi - knows what he is doing. He is a master gemstone setter. Just like his father. And his father. Since 1875, every move here has been perfect. Beauty has been at home here for over 145 years. Because Kling sets our synthetic diamonds in your pieces of jewelry. With incomparable precision and a patience that only beauty can conjure.

The quality control

Now they are all in front of us on the workbench: the necklaces and rings, bracelets and earrings. And we wouldn't be Maren Jewellery if we didn't lend a hand ourselves once again. After all, it is what we love, what inspires and fascinates us: the creation of the perfect piece of jewelry . We take care of the final polishing and quality control, of course we work environmentally friendly - without toxic chemicals, which is why we use for example citric acid instead of toxic acids for our pickle. Therefore you can be sure: Each of our jewelry pieces passes through many conscientious hands, is looked at by many expert eyes and gets exactly what it needs to be one: Your new favorite piece.

From people for people

So you can be sure: our jewelry is produced by people who can live from it. We guarantee fair wages, fair working conditions and above all: an honest, critical approach to our Unternehmenskultur. Denn Vertrauen entsteht durch Transparency and the ability to admit mistakes and learn from them. Our jewelry is made by people for people. That is why we are part of the Fashion Revolution Week 2022.
