Fashion Revolution Week: I made your jewellery

Fashion revolution week:i made your jewelry

Sustainability

Fashion Revolution Week. Revolution means: to revolutionize something. In this lies also: The good is already there, somehow already part of something that just needs to be brought to light. You just have to bring it to the surface, turn it in a way that the positive outweighs. And so it is with fashion. Sure, it's about beauty. But not only. It's also about people. Primarily about people. This needs to be emphasized.

The sweater you're wearing today, the pants, your shoes - do you know who made all of that? Through whose hands the fabrics went, who set the seams? Probably not. Yet, this is essential. You wear the work of other people on your skin. It keeps you warm, it highlights your most beautiful sides. And yet we know too little about the circumstances and backgrounds of production.

That's why we support the Fashion Revolution Week and have opted for radical transparency. We are proud of our partners. We are proud of our jewelry. And above all: We are convinced that you have the right to know who makes your jewelry under what circumstances. Simply because we want to know that too.

The path of your favorite piece

From the raw material to the yes word. It is a journey full of warmth, full of adventure, full of passion. Each of our jewelry starts with a heat that is to melt away. Because we only use recycled precious metals for our jewelry: 18 carat gold, 925 sterling silver, 18 carat white gold. Our precious metals come from Pforzheim. In a red brick house there is a furnace where dental gold and old jewelry come together. TheRefinery C. Hafnergives old gold a new life and thus creates the basis for our jewellery.

Design meets gold

The gold doesn't even have to change cities. Because: our foundry Kauselmann, which brings the gold into acquaintance with our designs, also operates in Pforzheim. It is a special foundry. Because: They completely refrain from working with mined gold. And their principles are clear: no inhumane working conditions, no environmental pollution, no child labor in gold mining. That's why the foundry has also decided to use paper bags instead of plastic bags to ship their casts, as is usual. This saves them several million plastic bags! But where they don't save: casting jewelry in the best quality, precisely according to our specifications. But the pure cast is not yet a finished piece of jewelry. Now it's time to polish.

You are golden

Shine bright like a diamond

We stay in Pforzheim. From the outside, it looks like an unremarkable family house. But once you step inside, you can't help but be amazed. Because here, what belongs together comes together. Julia Kling, her father, and our jewelry, diamonds, and gold. Wilhelm Kling – or as he calls himself: Brilli Willi – knows what he is doing. He is a master gemstone setter. Just like his father. And his father's father. Since 1875, every hand movement has been precise. For over 145 years, beauty has found its home here. Because Kling sets our lab-grown diamonds into your jewelry pieces. With unparalleled precision and a patience that only beauty can summon.

The quality control

Now they are all in front of us on the workbench: chains and rings, bracelets and earrings. And we wouldn't be Maren Jewelery if we didn't lend a hand ourselves. After all, it is what we love, what excites and fascinates us: the Creating the perfect piece of jewellery . We take care of the final polish and quality control, of course we work in an environmentally friendly manner without toxic chemicals, which is why we use citric acid instead of toxic acids for our stain. That's why you can be sure: Each of our pieces of jewelery goes through many conscientious hands, is looked at by many expert eyes and gets exactly what it needs to be one thing: your new favorite piece..

By people for people

So you can be sure: our jewelry is produced by people who can make a living from it. We guarantee fair wages, fair working conditions, and above all: an honest, critical approach to our company culture. Because trust is built on transparency and the ability to admit mistakes and learn from them. Our jewelry is made by people for people. That's why we are part of the Fashion Revolution Week.
